Tyco Electronics' AMP NETCONNECT business unit has announced that the third-party test laboratory GHMT AG has completed the first independent study of UTP (“Unshielded Twisted Pair”) vs. STP (“Shielded Twisted Pair”) systems for 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GBASE-T)

In order to comply with the newest upcoming global cabling standard definitions by ISO/IEC 11801, Tyco Electronics has released the new AMP NETCONNECT XGA cabling system featuring compliant copper components (AMP-TWIST 6AS SL Jack and Cat. 6A patchcords) and improved fiber (OM4 cable), allowing much higher system performance.
